Graphics Vinyl Films Information and Details.
We use only the highest quality vinyl films. The standard films we use are manufactured by 3M, Avery Dennison, Orafol (Oracal), and Arlon.
For cut vinyl vehicle graphics, 3M, Avery Dennison, Orafol, and Arlon all recommend High Performance / Premium Cast, 2 Mil Vinyl Films. If you doubt this, please feel free to investigate for yourself.
Some installers and customers are requesting 3M-1080 Wrap material for the cut graphics that we produce. If requested we will supply this material for you, however, we advise against it. Wrap material is just that WRAP material, and the vinyl manufacturers themselves do not recommend 1080, or wrap material for cut vehicle graphics. There are many reasons for this, durability (Under 6 years), thickness (1080 is 4.5 Mil thick), etc.
These can be produced out of any of the materials we have listed on our color charts, we recommend Avery SuperCast 900 material for a high durability rating of 10-12 years in standard colors, also 3M 7125 Electrocut, 3M 180mc Controltac, Orafol 751/951, and Arlon 2100. Obviously the durability is going to be affected by care, cleaning, weather conditions etc.
We do not, and will not use Calendered Films, as they are low durability, and are not designed for Vehicle Cut Graphics Applications.
You may come across some of these on eBay etc. These are usually a cheaper product, 3M Series 50, Avery 700 Series and Lower etc., and will crack, fade, shrink, and will not last! However the choice is always yours!
